SUZANNE KLENCK, PH.D.
LICENSED CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
EDUCATION
Suzanne C. Klenck, Ph.D. earned two undergraduate degrees from the University of South Carolina. She obtained her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the University of Houston where she served as the Assistant Director of the Anxiety Disorder Clinic as well as the Head Clinic Assistant at the University’s Psychology Research and Services Center. Dr. Klenck completed a forensic clinical internship at the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She then completed a forensic postdoctoral fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine.
TREATMENT APPROACH
Dr. Klenck specializes in working with adults with anxiety and depressive disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy. She works with older adolescents and adults on a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems using a treatment plan that is customized to each individual and problem. Her extensive training in evidence-based practices guides her practice, but she believes the most important factor in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. Without a strong alliance with the client, a therapist is limited in his or her ability to help the individual effect change.
She has enjoyed serving as a member and consultant of multidisciplinary teams and assisting in treatment plans for individuals under civil commitment as well as those who are involved in the criminal justice system. Her professional biography also includes extensive experience with multidisciplinary approaches.

RESEARCH
Dr. Klenck has published several manuscripts in some of the leading scientific journals and has presented at several psychology and other mental health conferences.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES AND ASSOCIATIONS
Dr. Klenck is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the Louisiana Psychological Association (LPA).
She is also an active member and board member-elect for the Women’s Professional Council.
Dr. Klenck provides supervision to psychotherapy cases for residents at Tulane Medical University
FORENSIC POPULATIONS
She has conducted dangerousness risk assessments, psychological, personality, and cognitive testing in forensic and civil settings.
She has provided integrative medico-legal reports including interpretive feedback and clinical recommendations. In addition, she received specialized training and performed custody evaluations as well as psychological evaluations for custody cases. She also has provided expert testimony in court.
